BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Staten Island man is facing a battery charge after he allegedly attacked another man in a hallway of “The Boca Raton” — the hotel formerly known as the “Boca Resort.” The Saturday night incident led to a huge police response, according to witnesses reaching out to our newsroom.

The police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com alleges that Robert Schulman, 62, of Staten Island apparently believed that another man was speaking to his wife in a hallway in the hotel. Video surveillance allegedly shows Schulman striking and punching the other man. That man falls to the ground “and becomes defenseless. Schulman then approaches (the victim) who is lying on the ground and proceeds to kick him in the face multiple times,” according to police.

The victim, in an interview with police, said he was walking in the hallway when he was attacked by Schulman for “unknown reasons.” The man said he had no relationship with Schulman’s wife and that the attack was unprovoked. The man appeared to be injured, according to police, but ultimately refused assistance from Boca Raton Fire Rescue.

Schulman, in an interview with police, allegedly said that he saw the other man talking to his wife which “resulted in the two exchanging strikes and punches.” When asked why he kicked the man on the ground instead of walking away, Schulman allegedly said that he was “already in the fight.”

Robert Schulman was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. He was later released on $1000 bond. A court date is pending.
