Beatrice Levine Charged. “Pulling Away, Tensing, Refusing…”

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman is facing multiple charges after she was stopped by Boca Raton Police on North Federal Highway Thursday evening. Beatrice Levine of NW 23rd Avenue is free on $2,000 bond pending a court date.
According to a police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, a Boca Raton Police Officer was traveling northbound on North Federal Highway between East Glades Road and NE 20th Street when he observed a blue 2024 BMW swerving in its lane. The driver, later identified as Beatrice Levine, 52, allegedly then turned west on 20th Street and drove through a steady red light.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and noted that Levine’s eyes were “red and glossy, her eyelids were droopy, her movements were slowed, and her speech was slurred,” according to the report. The officer also “observed an odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emanating from Levine’s breath.”
The officer, believing that Levine may be under the influence of something, asked her how much alcohol she had consumed that evening. Levine allegedly said none. The officer then asked Levine to take part in field sobriety exercise which she did — but apparently had a difficult time completing. That led to Levine being arrested and transported to a breath testing facility.
At the facility, Levine “was asked to provide a sample of her breath for the purpose of determining the alcohol content. Levine failed to give a straightforward answer and therefore was informed of implied consent. Levine then refused to answer whether she understood or not; she simply remained silent. I then once again requested that Levine submit to a breath test for the purpose of determining its alcohol content, and she continued to remain silent. Levine was informed that failure to give an answer would be deemed a refusal to submit to the breath test. Levine was then asked several more times if she was going to submit to the breath test and she never gave an answer, so it was deemed a refusal to submit to testing.”
Levine continued to remain silent, then allegedly, “resisted lawful efforts to place her into the police vehicle for transport to the booking facility by pulling away, tensing, and refusing to get into the back seat. Levine was placed into the back seat of the vehicle by (the arresting officer) and other officers while she continued to resist and push, in order to be transported. Levine later resisted my efforts to place her into a holding cell following the breath testing procedures by once again pulling away, tensing, and refusing to enter the holding cell.”
Beatrice Levine, according to police, was ultimately placed into the cell while she continued to resist. She was charged with DUI and resisting arrest without violence.
