According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com, Dominguez was driving a 2012 Kia Soul north on Cheetham Hill Boulevard in North Westlake around 11:40 Thursday when he approached a stop sign at the intersection of 50th Street North.
“For an undermined reason,” said police, “the vehicle continued north, through the intersection, struck a sign and drove through the grassy area before it traveled down an embankment and into a canal.”
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue rushed to the scene and immediately had swimmers and then divers in the water. Despite their heroic efforts, Dominguez, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene.
