DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach teenager shot himself in the hand and head Saturday afternoon while apparently playing with a gun.
Sources connected to the emergency response tell BocaNewsNow.com that police and paramedics rushed to the Rainbow Homes section of the City of Delray Beach just before 2 p.m. after 911 received a call reporting a that a teenager had been shot. Once police arrived on the scene, they determined the home was “secure” and permitted paramedics to enter to perform lifesaving care.
According to our source, the 17-year-old was playing with a gun when it discharged. The teen was shot in the hand and the forehead. He was conscious, alert, and talking when police arrived. Paramedics rushed him to Delray Medical Center, the region’s trauma center.
