DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Hagen Ranch Road Branch Library is set to host its fifth annual “Our Town Community Fair,” a free public event organized entirely by the library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB). The fair will take place on Sunday, October 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is designed to introduce residents to a wide range of local resources, with a special focus this year on financial literacy.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with seven local organizations, including the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. In addition to meeting with community representatives, the fair will feature several interactive stations. A highlight of the event is a hands-on mini-store activity, created to help participants of all ages practice money management skills in a fun and approachable setting.
The event underscores the library’s commitment to youth leadership and community engagement. “This event gives teens the opportunity to lead while connecting the public with important community resources,” said Douglas Crane, Director of the Palm Beach County Library System. “Celebrating the strength of our local partnerships shows how the Library connects communities, inspires thought and enriches lives.”
The fair is a capstone project for the library’s Teen Advisory Board, a leadership and service program that empowers young people to shape library services. Members earn volunteer hours by brainstorming program ideas, planning special events like the community fair, and ensuring the library effectively serves the interests of their peers and the wider community. The program is offered at several library locations and is open to local teens.
The “Our Town Community Fair” is free and open to families, teens, and residents of all ages.
