WEEKEND WASHOUT. HEAVY RAIN LIKELY FOR DAYS.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Heavy rain, and lots of it, will likely fall over Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, and all of South Florida over the next few days. That system that’s forming just off of South Florida may not become a named tropical system, but it is expected to dramatically affect our weather.
BocaNewsNow.com is publishing National Weather Service’s “Hydrologic forecast” which explains what may happen:
>> … Heavy Rainfall Is Possible Across Eastern Areas Of South Florida Through This Weekend…
A broad low/mid level low is forecast to develop over the Bahamas and move slowly to the northwest over south or central Florida through this weekend. This will allow for the steering flow to remain light from the east southeast allowing for deep tropical moisture to work into the region from the Bahamas. Therefore, any showers and thunderstorms that do develop will be slow moving with heavy rainfall possible through this weekend.
Total rainfall amounts for the eastern areas of South Florida is forecast to be mostly likely in the 2 to 3 inch range with a reasonable worst case isolated total of 4 to 6 inches. If these higher values occur in a short period of time, there is the potential for pockets of localized flooding. At the moment, the Weather Prediction Center has maintained a marginal risk (level 1 of 4) of excessive rainfall each day through Sunday. <<
