I-95 Was Closed For Hours In Boca Raton, North Broward County…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The I-95 crash that closed the southbound Interstate for hours at Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton Monday morning left a 62-year-old Miami man dead.
According to Florida Highway Patrol in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com: The fatal incident occurred at mile marker 42 (Hillsboro Boulevard) when the victim, who was standing beside his disabled vehicle in a travel lane, was struck following a secondary collision. The man had been waiting for law enforcement to arrive after being involved in a previous, separate accident at the same location.
Investigators say that a 2015 gray Toyota Corolla was stopped in the outside southbound lane of I-95. The victim was standing next to his vehicle when a 2019 white Mercedes Sprinter, also traveling south, approached from behind. The driver of the Sprinter, a 41-year-old male from Palm Beach, failed to see the stationary Corolla and struck its left side with the front of his van.
The force of the impact propelled the Toyota Corolla into the 62-year-old man, causing fatal injuries. After the collision, the Mercedes Sprinter came to a final rest facing south within the outside lane, while the Toyota Corolla stopped facing east, also in the outside lane.
Police shut I-95 in Boca Raton to stop traffic from approaching the scene in North Broward. The Interstate remained closed for more than six hours. Names of the victims have not been released. The investigation continues.
