The honor recognizes Chief Koen’s distinguished firefighting career, which began in Boca Raton in 1964. Throughout his decades of service, Chief Koen led the Fire Rescue department with distinction, implementing critical lifesaving programs and working to strengthen safety protocols for all residents. His leadership was instrumental in shaping the modern, effective department that serves the City of Boca Raton today.
Beyond his decorated career in public service, Chief Koen was known for his personal passion for photography. He loved capturing the unique beauty of Boca Raton’s beaches and landscapes. The Kerry Koen Fire Rescue Station 3 is located at 100 South Ocean Boulevard, Boca Raton, FL 33432.
