Boca Raton Woman Evades Police For More Than A Year

Arrested

But Boca Raton Cops Found Her, Jailed Her…

Arrested

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman is out of the Palm Beach County Jail Sunday morning following her arrest more than 17 months after a judge issued a warrant for her capture.

Alexia Shields, who lives in the City of Boca Raton, was stopped by Florida Highway Patrol back in March of 2024. A trooper wrote this on the original citation:

“On Sunday March 31, 2024, I was traveling northbound on State road 9 (I-95) approaching mile marker 55. I observed a Red in color mazda sedan bearing a Florida license plate in the left (HOV) lane at a high rate of speed directly ahead. I paced the vehicle for approximately a half mile at 95mph on a 65mph zone. I conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on the left paved shoulder. I made a drivers side approach and informed the driver the reason for the stop. I then asked the driver for her driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance. The driver advised she only had a Florida issued learners license but did not have it with her at the time. I then asked for her name, date of birth and was able to locate a Florida issued ID card only. I was able to identify her by the picture on the Florida ID as Alexia Autumn Brook Shields D. O. B 9/x/2002. I then issued Mrs. Shields a notice to appear for no driver’s license never had one issued, and a speed citation for 95/65 mph zone.”

But Shields, according to court records, never showed up for her hearing, and never contacted the Clerk of Courts with a reason. That led a judge to issue a warrant for her arrest in May of 2024. Boca Raton Police found her and arrested her on Wednesday. It was not immediately clear where the arrest took place.

Alexia Shields is now facing a charge of “failure to appear” on top of the motor vehicle violation that was first filed by Florida Highway Patrol. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $2000 bond.
