Remember: It’s Okay To Bring Your Gun To Publix, But Not Your Dog

Boca Rudeton October 19 2025

Dogs Are Banned. Guns Are Not. It’s Boca Rudeton For Sunday.

The scene inside the Boca Raton Costco, thanks to a dog that did not belong in the store.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We start this week’s Boca Rudeton with a quick request: we’d like to see photos of people using Golf Carts in places where they should not be. Do you see golf carts in your community, even though there’s no golf course? Snap a pic and send it. Are they on roads without license plates? We want to see. Are kids driving golf carts? Safely document the situation and let us take a look. There are very real laws for golf cart use in Florida. Now, on with Boca Rudeton:

Proving again that dogs are dangerous to the health and welfare of shoppers in stores and markets across Florida, Publix just reiterated its policy that people seem to have a very difficult time understanding: Guns are okay in its stores in Florida, but dogs are absolutely not. (It remains unclear if you can use your gun on a dog in a Florida Publix and claim “stand your ground,” but we think there may be something to that…)

Despite huge signs that tell people that NO PETS are allowed inside at Publix and other stores and markets, the rude, selfish, and just plain gross people among us continue to display signs of early-or-late-onset-rudeness by bringing their pets where they don’t belong.

%%
Publix at Woodfield Shopping Center in Boca Raton.

We start with this man in Publix in Woodfield shopping center. The tipster questions the “service dog” vest that one can easily buy from Amazon. Asks the tipster: why does this guy need a dog to go to the pharmacy in Publix? We think it’s a legitimate question.

%%
Joseph’s Market at Lyons and Atlantic.

From Publix we got to Joseph’s Market near Lyons Road and Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach. Joseph’s is a constant offender when it comes to dogs in its two stores. Not only is it illegal under Florida law, it’s just disgusting. We don’t know why this woman needs to carry her dog in a “baby bjorn” that also seems to be Amazon-bought with the words “service dog” on the pink exterior, but we’d like to ask this question: what service is this pint-sized pooch actually trained to performed? She can email us as at imbreakingthelaw(at)bocanewsnow.com.

%%
Costco in Boca Raton.

Why are dogs a problem? Because of what another tipster saw in Costco in Boca Raton. Yes, that is what you think it is. We know Costco is classy, and people who shop there are classy, but this is not okay.

%%
Target in West Boynton Beach.

Also not okay: dogs in Target. Our tipster in the West Boynton Beach Target couldn’t understand why this man would brazenly display his dog in Target where it seemingly isn’t needed. Maybe this ball of fluff really is a highly trained service animal that provides incredible lifesaving functions. Or, maybe it’s just a dog in Target where it shouldn’t be. We wonder.

%%
Boca Raton Town Center Mall.

We also wonder why this woman feels it necessary to shop in the often disgusting Boca Raton Town Center Mall with her dog. We’ve shown images of dogs in Town Center Mall, a Simon Property Group (NYSE:SPG) property over the past several years. The official mall policy: only service animals. But for reasons that remain unclear, mall employees look the other way when dogs poop, pee, and do other things in the mall. Maybe this dog can sniff out sales.

%%
Walmart at Palmetto Park Road and U.S. 441 in Boca Raton.

In the Boca Raton Walmart, our tipster there thinks it’s absolutely unacceptable that this woman put her dog in a shopping cart where normal shoppers place food. We completely agree. We don’t know who this woman is (presumably someone reading does), or why that dog is in the cart, but we do know this: dogs are not allowed in food markets in Florida unless they are providing a legitimate service. Sitting in a cart is not a legitimate service.

%%
Starbucks at Clint Moore Road and 441 in Boca Raton.

If you wonder why Starbucks is failing as a company, consider the image above the Starbucks location at Clint Moore and 441. That location has long had a dog problem, and this photo shows that it’s a problem which continues. “Baristas” look the other way when people violate Florida law and bring their dogs into the location — acting like it’s their family room. Our readers call this gross. We agree. Dogs have no place in Starbucks, and the delusional people who believe their dogs are actually “little humans” who deserve a coffee break are, quite simply, delusional.

%%
Unidentified apartment complex in Boca Raton.

Let’s focus on parking for a few moments. We don’t know which complex the above photo was sent from, but we do know this: The Audi with Florida tag ICJV66 is parked illegally — and incredibly right under a sign that says “No Parking Anytime.” Yes, reading is FUNdamental.

%%
Near Posh Fit on Champion Boulevard in Boca Raton.

Outside Posh Fit in Boca Raton, this driver of this Mercedes with Florida plate 10DTUB apparently has some sort vision problem. Why else would he or she think it’s okay to park right in the middle of two spaces?

%%
Boca Raton Town Center Mall.

And at Boca Raton Town Center Mall Saturday night, no one seems to know what the driver of this vehicle was thinking. It’s parked diagonally in a straight handicapped space. We don’t have the plate, but we suspect it’s something like Florida tag “INCOMPETENT.”

So who is our winner this week? It’s the woman with the dog in Joseph’s Italian Market. While Joseph’s has a very real problem with animal management, it’s the customers who are clearly the real problem. So what does the woman carrying the dog in the Baby Bjorn win? It’s a copy of our new book which may someday be published. The cover says it all.

Save your stupid comments about dogs being outlawed in Publix and not guns. Dogs are against the law and open carry enhances pulic safety.

Men who carry guns in public are overcompensating for low self-esteem and other parts of their body.

Hahahaha I know just what you are referring to. I say the same thing about those that drive pickups that are elevated 4 feet above the tires.

Nice job covering the rude, a-holes who think they and their dogs are above the law and who lack the basic ability to function on a society of people and rules. Get your dogs out of the supermarket – and Publix – start enforcing the law. I asked a guy in Publix why he doesn’t enforce the no dogs law in the supermarket and he said “they don’t listen to me.” I then asked him can I just steal stuff and walk out – will you do anything? What’s the difference. Dog hair on our clothes, in our food, smelling dogs in stores and bakeries and coffee shops is disgusting. Listening to dogs bark and snap at people disrupts law abiding people’s enjoyment. Having to avoid dogs as owners allow them to walk down the center of the sidewalk, having dogs walk up to lick or smell our legs or personal property is outrageous. Leaver your dogs at home!

Of course we know that dog owners know they don’t have to obey the law! Why? Because they own a dog

Many dog owners follow the law. Don’t lump all dog owners together. Thanks

After living in Palm Beach County for 9 years, it’s become obvious to me that our wealthy county breads arrogance
People think they can do whatever they want whenever they want to do it
Laws don’t apply to them just others!
Dogs in supermarkets are a health hazard & don’t belong in stores of any kind
    Disgusting

DOGS and FOOD do not mix it’s a major health violation. Restaurants and grocery stores get fines and possible closure for rats and roaches. Rats 4 legs and a tail. Dogs 4 legs and a tail. I see know difference health wise. Dogs run through grass smelling other dogs shit then people have the nerve to bring these pets to the food store. Many of these emotional support nut jobs can’t even leave the house without the alleged faked paper service dogs. Some people are legit handicapped and blind I understand having a service dog. People letting their dogs shit on the floor and just leave it there is just down right low class.
