Pamela Susan Poggiali, 61, died from her injuries on Monday, October 20. The crash, which occurred on August 12, also seriously injured the second driver, 74-year-old Carol Lynn Longo of Delray Beach.
The collision happened at 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Palmetto Park Road and Lyons Road. According to PBSO, Longo was driving a 2024 Volkswagon Tiguan westbound on Palmetto Park Road. She was in the process of turning left onto Lyons Road with a green turn arrow.
At the same time, Poggiali was traveling eastbound on Palmetto Park Road in a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic. Investigators determined that Poggiali, “entered the intersection on a red traffic signal as V-2 was turning left, thus the collision ensued”. The report states the front of Poggiali’s Sonic impacted the front passenger area of Longo’s Tiguan.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Poggiali was seriously injured in the August crash and died from her injuries at 4:12 a.m. on Monday while under hospice care. Longo’s injuries were listed as serious.
