BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach medical examiner assistant is facing a felony charge after allegedly fleeing from a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy in her neighborhood. Brandi Taylor McKay, 36, of the Briella Community in unincorporated Boynton Beach, was arrested Monday and charged with fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer.

According to the arrest report, the incident began around 10 a.m. on October 20th when a deputy conducting traffic enforcement on Hagen Ranch Road clocked a black Hyundai SUV traveling 62 mph in a 45 mph zone. As the deputy began to initiate a stop, the Hyundai allegedly cut off oncoming traffic and the deputy’s unmarked patrol vehicle to turn into the Briella Community.

The deputy activated emergency lights and sirens, but the driver, later identified as McKay, failed to stop. The report states the deputy pulled alongside McKay’s vehicle at a stop sign and made direct eye contact with her. The deputy noted he was in a clearly marked uniform and that McKay, the sole occupant, was wearing a floral printed bikini top and sunglasses. McKay allegedly pulled away, ignoring the sirens and verbal commands from the deputy’s PA system for approximately five minutes before the deputy terminated the pursuit.

The deputy then went to McKay’s registered address on Briella Drive and spoke with her mother. Within an hour, McKay returned to the residence, still wearing the bikini top, and was positively identified. She was taken into custody and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. McKay was also issued citations for speeding and failing to yield.

We note someone with the same name and same profession sued Miami-Dade County over lack of payment for work performed while interning in the Miami-Dade medical examiner’s office. She lost.
