BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man is facing a charge of “aggravated battery with a deadly weapon” after he allegedly threatened an acquaintance with a “red eletric hedge trimmer.” Harold Hastings of Purple Sage Lane in unincorporated Boca Raton remains held in the Palm Beach County Jail following his October 20th arrest.

Hastings is accused of arguing with an acquaintance in his home over a missing dog. He allegedly told that person that, “you will die alone.” He then, according to an arrest report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, left the house and returned with an electric hedge trimmer. He allegedly said, “here is something to help you get started” as he threw the hedge trimmer at the person.

Hastings then left the residence while the acquaintance called police. Hastings was found by an undercover deputy patrolling the area. That deputy detained Hastings. He was later arrested.

Harold Hastings was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail where he was charged and assigned a public defender. Hastings was previously arrested in June on a battery charge and placed under a ‘risk protection’ order by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office — the same agency that arrested him for this alleged hedge trimmer incident.
