PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The School District of Palm Beach County is significantly expanding its Choice and Career Options, introducing new programs designed to align with high-demand career fields. The expansion, dubbed “Pathways to Possibilities,” will launch for the 2026-2027 school year and includes new signature high school programs as well as additional Choice offerings at elementary and middle schools.
Five high schools will introduce new signature programs. Atlantic Community High School will add Biomedical Engineering, and Santaluces Community High School will launch a program in Construction. New cutting-edge technology programs include Quantum Computing at Royal Palm Beach Community High School and Artificial Intelligence at Palm Beach Gardens Community High School. Additionally, West Technical Education Center will offer a Welding Career Dual Enrollment program.
Seven other schools will add new programs. New elementary offerings include a Service Learning & Leadership program at Acreage Pines Elementary, an in-house STEM program at Manatee Elementary, and a Pre-Engineering program at South Olive Elementary. Beacon Cove Intermediate and Lighthouse Elementary will both add Arts (Visual, Performing & Communications) programs. At the middle school level, Lake Worth Middle School will introduce a Pre-Culinary program, and West Boynton Middle School will add a Sports Management Choice program.
The application window for these and other Choice programs opens Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Families can apply online at mypbchoiceapp.com. The deadline for programs requiring an audition is Friday, Dec. 5, 2025. The application window for all other programs closes on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026.
Students and families seeking more information are encouraged to attend the district’s 29th annual Showcase of Schools. The Showcase of Schools will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds (9607 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33411), which offers free admission and parkingThe event allows families to learn about opportunities, hear from students, and meet staff from more than 125 district schools.
