INVESTIGATORS: APPARENT ROAD RAGE.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A suspect is now in custody following the apparent shooting on I-95 that left a man critically injured Wednesday afternoon. The Broward Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that Breanna Evans was charged overnight. Booking information was not available early Thursday. Police just before 9 a.m. Thursday revealed that the suspect and victim do not know each other and that this appears to be a case of “road rage.”
A man in his 20s called 9-1-1 around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday to report that he had been shot in the head. The motorist pulled over to the side of northbound I-95 between Hillsboro Boulevard and Palmetto Park Road. Boca Raton Fire Rescue rushed to the scene and confirmed that the man had been shot in the head. He was conscious and walking around. The man was transported to Delray Medical Center — the area’s trauma center.

Florida Highway Patrol — which is responsible for police action on I-95 — responded to the scene with Boca Raton PD, but ultimately turned the investigation over to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. BSO’s involvement suggests that the shooting took place before the victim entered I-95.
We are awaiting more information on the arrest and allegations. Check back later Thursday for updates.
