Fast Work. The Former “Boca Resort” Lobby Is Looking Good.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The photo above tells the story. “The Boca Raton,” the current name for the resort that will forever be known as “The Boca Resort” to many, was hit hard by the floods that submerged parts of Boca Raton days ago.
To the casual observer, the water that checked in to the lobby — making it seemingly impassable and unusable — led to super-fast work by clean up and remediation crews. Now, the lobby is back to normal, and the image provided by the hotel looks good.
Wrote a hotel representative: “Image of The Boca Raton as of Tuesday morning, October 28th. Following Monday evening’s heavy rainfall, the photos capture Cloister’s lobby and main entrance, which have been fully refreshed this week. The private club and luxury resort is operating as normal and continues to welcome Club members, overnight guests, and meetings.”
The flood, however, didn’t wash away the still controversial name of the property. Even a few years after the switch, many people continue to ask why “The Boca Resort” — a name long part of Boca Raton tradition — would change its name to “The Boca Raton,” the name of a city with the word “the” in front of it.
