BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It’s another week of what we like to refer to as “dog crime” in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and beyond. And thanks to our tipsters, we have the alleged perps caught on camera — those selfish, self-absorbed local residents and visitors who think that it’s perfectly okay to bring their doggie-woggies into stores and restaurants. It’s actually not okay. These are not “little humans” or “special family members.” They’re dogs. And Florida statute makes it clear where they are and aren’t allowed.
We start this week’s edition of “Boca Rudeton” at the Whole Foods:

At the WHOLE FOODS IN UNIVERSITY COMMONS (near Glades and I-95), our tipster wondered why this woman felt it necessary to bring her dog into the supermarket, considering that is illegal unless it’s a trained service animal that performs a lifesaving function. Maybe she was shipping the dog back to Amazon.

We’ve written about disgusting NARBONA RESTAURANT at 5250 Town Center Circle, and this is why. This woman, according to our tipster (and the photographic proof) not only brought her dog into the restaurant, but the restaurant seemingly aided and abetted the commission of a violation. Dogs don’t need dessert. But more importantly, they don’t belong in restaurants. We turn to our friends at LaBamba in Delray Beach for our weekly reminder of Florida law:

Now, on with our countdown…

Let’s go to GBRTCM (Gross Boca Raton Town Center Mall) which is a Simon Property Group mall (NYSE:SPG). There we find this man sitting on a couch in MACY’S with his dog, also on the couch in Macy’s. We don’t see the therapist, but we’re sure he or she is on a nearby seat asking questions about why the man is on the couch with his dog.

Now to TARGET at Palmetto Park Road and U.S. 441. That’s where this woman apparently decided the store was actually a dog park. Our tipster wonders why she needs her dog in Target. We wonder, too.

From Target in West Boca to WALMART in West Boca, the high class living continues. This man apparently decided it’s just fine to put his dog in a shopping cart where other customers put food. Let’s be clear: it’s not okay. Not even a little.

To parking now, where it appears Cooper’s brain is mini. That’s our tipster’s only explanation as to why this person decided to take two parking spaces at Town Center Mall outside Nordstrom. Driver of Mini Cooper with Florida plate KPRX76, you know what they say about car sizes…
Our Boca Rudeton winner this week? Drumroll, please. It’s none other than the woman in Narbona who apparently believed it was perfectly fine to bring her dog inside a restaurant, and then give that dog food INSIDE the restaurant. If anything represents the qualities of a Boca Rudeton winner, it’s most certainly this sort of self absorption! Congratulations! We bestow upon you this beautiful trophy — imagined by Open AI.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. Why don’t establishments do more to enforce their rules? From what I can see other post the rules they do nothing to enforce them.
-
Because most people they have full And are happy to see people enjoying their pets and most people when you walk around come over and smile or happy to see them want to pet them it’s only Meanies and those with nothing in their lives that they pick on these small absurd things. They lose more business if they didn’t allow the dogs and catering to people who hate them.

Apparently present governing law states that if a person says their dog is a service animal, the establishment cannot demand proof of this status and all questioning must end. This allows dog owners to circumvent the no dogs allowed rule and thus abuse the service animal immunity.

everyone of the people should be ticked and made to show up in court> Let
s hear the excuses they come up with in front of a judge.-
I saw a woman in Publix with her dog in a bag. The manager said as long as the dog was not on the floor or in a cart, this was OK. Thoughts?

The dogs should be ALLOWED EVERYWHERE! And if rude people don’t like it… they should move out of this town.

I am especially disturbed at the man with a dog lying in the cart, where I often place unwrapped produce. With persons so aggressive these days, one is even afraid to say anything, since you may end up getting physically assaulted. 😱

Disgusting entitled jerks who think rules only apply to others.

The reason is simple: as a society, we’ve become absolutely afraid to confront those who blatantly breaking the law.

I love my dogs and take them with me when I can. I will NOT take them into a supermarket or a restaurant. I WILL take them where they are welcomed (most Home Depot’s, pet stores and the like). Even when at those locations, I always have an old bath mat in the ca that I’ll put in the cart. To be honest, it’s more for the dogs comfort so they don’t have to walk in that horrible surface. I don’t understand why people are so lazy that they can’t take their animals home before shopping.

You’d have to be sedated if you came to Mexico, where I live not after 30 years in Florida. Dogs are welcomed everywhere except a few restaurants and the big supermarkets. Even the art galleries enjoy them visiting. The little watch repair shop down the street from me has a hand written sign inviting dogs. Viva Mexico.

Whole foods is really a continuing problem. I had a manager ask someone to leave. Employees were even petting the animal, and it was NOT a service animal. Wrote to headquarters. Response was that they can only ask if it is a service animal and nothing else. I say BULL. Cop out and their stance perpetuates the problem

Greta article and award, thank you!

I’d like to know what the people with trained service dogs are expected to do when they go to restaurants, markets, clothing stores, movies. I know the laws in Florida. I know what the owner/mgr. can ask of the human. But what do the people who are complaining doing to understand? The “fakers” are plentiful. I’ve seen people put a dog on the seat of a booth at Poppies, feed it food by letting it eat from a plate on the table. It made me mad. But I know we now have people openly carrying weapons.legally. They’re even welcomed by Publix. So, what’s the answer?

Publix has large signs in the entrances banning dogs except service animals. No store staff ever bothers to enforce this. Time for Tallahassee to chang the law and allow establishment personnel to demand legal proof that this is a certified service animal, and if not then force the owner to leave before calling the police to press charges.

Keep up the great work. Maybe one day we can get a Boca Raton police officer giving one of these violators a ticket! i’d also like to hear from Mayor Singer on why in The City of Boca, this law is NOT enforced as well as from the right elected offical in Palm Beach County and Simon Malls!
