DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — American Heritage School in Delray Beach and Plantation has once again secured top honors in Florida’s competitive private school landscape, according to new 2026 rankings from Niche.com. The organization’s Broward campus was named the No. 1 Best Private K-12 School in Florida, while its Palm Beach campus earned the title of No. 1 Best Private K-12 School in Palm Beach County.
Niche, a leading platform that connects students and families with schools and colleges, bases its annual rankings on a detailed analysis of key statistics and millions of parent and student reviews. Factors considered in the rankings include SAT and ACT scores, the quality of colleges that graduates attend, student-to-teacher ratios, and other data points.
American Heritage Schools President Dr. Douglas Laurie said the recognition reflects a community-wide effort. “This recognition means so much to us because it reflects the dedication of our phenomenal teachers, the hard work of our students, and the support of our incredible families,” Laurie said. He added that while the school celebrates the achievement, it remains focused on “continuing to grow, innovate, and provide the very best college preparatory education.”
The Broward campus also received No. 1 rankings as the best boarding school in Florida, the best college prep private high school in Broward County, and the best high school for STEM in the Miami area. The Palm Beach campus mirrored these honors at the county level, earning the top spot for college prep, STEM education, and boarding among Palm Beach County private high schools.
Beyond the Niche.com rankings, American Heritage Schools marked another significant academic milestone. For the 16th consecutive year, the school produced the most National Merit Scholar Semifinalists in Florida. A combined 87 seniors from both campuses achieved this distinction, representing 9% of all semifinalists in the state.
