UPDATE: 11:02 a.m. — Palmetto Park Road is now open, according to Boca Raton Police.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Tri-Rail train slammed into a car in Boca Raton Wednesday morning, destroying the car and injuring the woman in the car. Palmetto Park Road is now closed east bound.

BocaNewsNow.com has learned that the woman in the car — incredibly — only sustained minor injuries. We are awaiting an update to see if that initial assessment holds. No one on the train was injured. It’s unclear if there was a signal issue or if the driver decided to run the train, only to fail.

Boca Raton Police report that Palmetto Park Road is closed eastbound near Military Trail. Expect major delays throughout the morning.
