DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Kings Point Recreation Corporation is facing a negligence lawsuit filed by Sherri Secunda-Plosker in Palm Beach County Circuit Court after she was allegedly injured on a treadmill. The suit claims the corporation failed to maintain its fitness center in a reasonably safe condition, leading to her injuries.
According to the complaint obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, the incident occurred on or about April 5, 2022. Secunda-Plosker, identified as a guest and invitee, was walking on a treadmill at the corporation’s premises at 6561 Flanders Way in Delray Beach. The lawsuit states the “treadmill malfunctioned, and Plaintiff fell”.
The lawsuit alleges that the Kings Point Recreation Corporation knew, or should have known with reasonable care, about the malfunctioning treadmill and the “dangerous condition” it posed. The complaint accuses the corporation of negligently failing to remedy the condition, failing to properly inspect its premises, and failing to provide an adequate warning to patrons about the hazard.
As a direct result of the fall, Secunda-Plosker claims she suffered a range of injuries, including “disability, disfigurement, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of income,” and aggravation of a previously existing condition. The suit, which demands a jury trial, seeks damages in excess of $50,000.
