PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Construction is set to begin on a new affordable housing project in Riviera Beach following a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday. The project, called the Villas of Solana, is a partnership between Palm Beach County and the Riviera Beach Community Development Corporation (RBCDC) designed to create attainable housing for first-time homebuyers.

Palm Beach County is investing nearly $1.5 million in housing funds to support the construction. Once complete, the development will feature 28 new townhomes, including 11 two-bedroom and 17 three-bedroom units. Ten of these homes will be reserved for households earning up to 80% of the area’s median income, addressing a critical need for affordable options for working families.

Each home will be built with modern, energy-efficient amenities, including hurricane impact-resistant windows and doors. The development is located near the Riviera Beach Marina, the waterfront, and several parks. Importantly, the county’s agreement ensures that all assisted units will remain affordable for at least 30 years, providing long-term housing stability for the new residents.

“For too long, access to affordable, quality housing has been one of the greatest challenges facing working families,” said Commissioner Bobby Powell Jr. “This development will change that, offering 28 beautiful, energy-efficient townhomes that will give first-time homebuyers the chance to put down roots right here in Riviera Beach.”
