DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you’re riding a bicycle in or around South Palm Beach County, be careful. BocaNewsNow.com has learned that at least two people have been rushed to area hospitals after separate incidents involving bicycles late Saturday morning.

In one incident, a man was apparently struck by a vehicle while he was riding his bike on Palmetto Park Road. That man sustained multiple injuries and was transported to Boca Raton Regional Hospital. His condition is unclear. It’s also unknown who was at fault or if a citation was issued.

In a second incident, a woman apparently fell from her bicycle in Delray Beach. Her injuries required an ambulance to rush her to Delray Medical Center with multiple injuries. Her condition is also unclear, as is whether anyone else was involved.

We routinely report on bicycle accidents and deaths in Palm Beach County. If you are out and about, remember that most major area streets are not bicycle friendly — even if they have bicycle lanes. From Lyons Road in Delray to Palmetto Park Road and Glades Road in West Boca Raton, motorists routinely speed and drive all over the place. Even if you’re operating your bicycle legally, that doesn’t create an immunity shield from death.
