UPDATE AT 12:20 p.m. — FLL is now acknowledging what we were first to report. Here is their official statement: “Travel Advisory No. 1: An ongoing security-related investigation is impacting access to pre-security public areas of the arrivals and departures levels of Terminal 4 only. Law enforcement personnel are diverting airport guests to unaffected terminal areas. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this ongoing investigation. This is a developing situation and updates will be posted when available.”

UPDATE: An evacuation was ordered at noon after what’s described as a “suspicious bag” was found.
BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A bomb threat Tuesday morning at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport has resulted in one man being detained. We are unaware of flight disruptions as a result of the threat.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that one man in Terminal 4 allegedly made the threat around 11:30 a.m. He was detained by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies who are assigned to the airport. Terminal 4 is used by what are considered to be second-tier airlines, including Transat, Carribbean Airlines, and Porter.
It was not immediately clear how the threat was communicated, what the threat specifically included, or who the threat was made to. There is no indication that flights are delayed. There was no mass evacuation of the terminal. Check back for updates.
