BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Community Services Department and the county’s HIV Elimination Services team are inviting the community to mark a significant date on the calendar with an upcoming panel discussion and presentation. Scheduled for World AIDS Day on Monday, December 1, 2025, the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mayme Frederick Building, located at 1440 MLK Blvd. in Riviera Beach.
Attendees can expect a deep dive into major milestones achieved in local healthcare. The discussion will highlight essential resources available to residents, including free at-home HIV testing, mobile unit operations, and accessible tele-counseling services. Organizers will also provide updates on health insurance enrollment, financial assistance, and self-sufficiency housing initiatives, alongside information regarding newly approved prevention and treatment medications.
Dr. Casey Messer, Program Manager for HIV Elimination Services, is set to present newly compiled data, noting that the past year has been “transformational” for local services despite funding and political challenges. “Through strategic innovations, strengthened cross-sector partnerships and a focus on removing root-cause barriers to care, we are ensuring that every person with HIV can not only live, but truly thrive,” Messer said. Echoing this sentiment, HIV Care Council Chair Richardo Jackson emphasized the county’s commitment to compassion and innovation, reminding the community that “HIV doesn’t discriminate and testing is for everyone.”
The event aims to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders to honor progress and recommit to the work ahead. Healthcare providers, community advocates, local partners, and individuals with lived experience are all encouraged to attend this informative session. By fostering collaboration, Palm Beach County continues its mission to ensure every resident has the opportunity to live a healthy, empowered life. Learn more here.
