BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman is facing multiple charges, including DUI and fleeing from law enforcement, after allegedly leading police on a chase through downtown streets and into a parking garage early on Sunday, November 16th. Fernanda Blanco, 35, was arrested by Boca Raton Police after officers say she repeatedly refused to stop her vehicle despite multiple attempts to pull her over.
According to the arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, the incident began just before midnight on Saturday when police responded to a disturbance call at 449 Plaza Real. An officer observed a woman, later identified as Blanco, stumbling toward a dark-colored Volkswagen SUV. Police say she entered the driver’s seat and drove over a curb while attempting to leave the area. The officer followed the vehicle as it allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and struggled to maintain its lane, crossing over a solid painted median on North Federal Highway.
When the officer attempted a traffic stop at a red light near 200 North Federal Highway, police say Blanco refused to exit the vehicle and sped away, nearly striking the officer as he tried to open her door. The report states that officers pursued the SUV as it ran another red light at Palmetto Park Road and continued south, ignoring sirens and emergency lights. The chase ended when Blanco pulled into a parking garage at 101 Plaza Real South and parked on the fifth floor, where she was taken into custody.

Blanco faces charges of fleeing and eluding, driving under the influence, resisting an officer without violence, and refusal to submit to testing. Police allege she initially provided the name of “Amanda Reinfield” with a fake date of birth before admitting her identity. The report notes that Blanco displayed signs of impairment, including slurred speech and the odor of alcohol, and later admitted to hospital staff that she had consumed three espresso martinis and two beers. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail early Sunday morning.
