
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit have arrested a 32-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a victim outside a home in Deerfield Beach on Sunday morning. Jarvis Chinn is currently in custody and facing a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm following the incident, which occurred just after 10 a.m.
The shooting was reported to Broward County Regional Communications at approximately 10:22 a.m. near the 200 block of Northwest Second Way. When BSO Deerfield Beach District deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue arrived on the scene, they discovered 33-year-old Leotis James Breedlove Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside a residence. While the shooter had already fled the area, paramedics immediately transported Breedlove Jr. to Broward Health North. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Detectives from the BSO Homicide Unit launched an immediate investigation, utilizing the Threat Intervention Tactics Analytics Network (T. I. T. A. N.) to track down the suspect. Through these investigative methods, authorities located Chinn near the 200 block of Northwest 30th Avenue in Pompano Beach. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.

Both the victim and the suspect are listed as residents of the same address on Northwest Second Way in Deerfield Beach, though authorities have not yet released details regarding the motive or the relationship between the two men. Chinn remains held at the Broward County Main Jail as the investigation continues.
