BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man has filed a lawsuit against a local massage establishment, claiming a routine visit turned into a medical emergency when a therapist violently snapped his neck. Eric Robbins just filed the complaint in Palm Beach County Circuit Court against Magic Hands Oriental Massage, located at 625 NE Spanish River Boulevard. The suit alleges negligence and seeks damages in excess of $50,000 for injuries sustained during the appointment.

According to the filing obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Robbins visited the spa on February 1, 2025, for a standard massage. The complaint states that during the session, the therapist attempted a chiropractic neck adjustment, “snapping it violently and quickly” without warning or permission. Robbins, who suffers from congenital cervical spinal problems, claims the maneuver caused immediate, severe pain and exacerbated his pre-existing condition. The lawsuit emphasizes that Robbins never consented to any form of spinal manipulation and had contracted solely for massage services.

The legal action centers on the allegation that the employee was licensed only as a massage therapist, not a chiropractor, and therefore had no legal authority to perform high-velocity spinal adjustments. Attorneys for Robbins argue that Magic Hands Oriental Massage failed to properly train or supervise its staff, allowing them to perform dangerous techniques outside the scope of their Florida license. The suit accuses the business of negligence for failing to safeguard clients from these prohibited medical maneuvers.

Robbins is seeking a jury trial and compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and permanent disability resulting from the incident. The complaint asserts that the injuries are continuing in nature and have significantly impacted his capacity to enjoy life. As of Monday, no response had been filed by Magic Hands Oriental Massage regarding the allegations.

Magic Hands had not filed a response to the suit as of mid-day Monday, December 8, 2025.
