The victim of Monday night’s Brightline versus car incident in Boca Raton has been identified by police.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The latest person to be killed on the Brightline tracks in South Florida is Alexis Gaspar of Margate. The 30-year-old man, according to police, was traveling eastbound on SW 18th Street when he stopped on the railroad tracks. He was in a Chevy Colorado pickup truck.

The Brightline train, “struck the passenger side of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to roll several times before coming to a final rest int he embankment between the railroad tracks and South Dixie Highway,” according to police.

Alexis Gaspar was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
