City Of Boca Raton Announces Holiday Schedule Changes

Trash. Parks. Offices. Here’s What’s Open. Closed. And When.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — City of Boca Raton officials are preparing for the Christmas holiday, announcing a wave of closures and service shifts that will affect everything from your trash pickup to your afternoon tee time.

Whether you are looking to hit the gym, take the kids to the park, or just need to know when to roll out the green bin, here is the breakdown of how the city is handling the holiday.

City Hall and Sanitation

The biggest takeaway for residents is that all City of Boca Raton offices will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25¹¹¹¹. Normal business hours will resume on Friday, December 26. Looking ahead, officials noted that offices will also be closed on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2026.

If your trash or recycling is usually picked up on Thursdays, you’ll need to plan ahead. There will be no sanitation service on Christmas Day. That service has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 24. Collection schedules for Monday, Tuesday, and Friday of that week remain unchanged.

Parks and Recreation

If you’re planning to spend the holiday outdoors, most parks, beaches, and playgrounds will remain open with regular hours. However, there are three exceptions: Countess de Hoernle Park, Patch Reef Park, and Sugar Sand Park will all close early at 6 p.m. on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Facility Hours: Dec. 24 & 25

Most city facilities will operate on a modified schedule on Wednesday, December 24, and many will shut down entirely on Thursday, December 25.
