Woman Told She Has Headache. Lawsuit Claims She Had Serious Neurological Problem Ignored By Emergency Doc.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A woman who claims that horrible doctoring at West Boca Medical Center led to a stroke has just filed suit against the hosptial and several medical professionals. The suit follows an emergency room visit to West Boca Medical Center in 2024.
Sabrina Albert says she went to the West Boca Medical Center Emergency Department on August 9, 2024. According to court documents reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, Albert arrived complaining of a three-day headache and tingling on the left side of her face, along with months of chronic neck and ear pain. Despite these symptoms, the lawsuit alleges that Dr. Ayesha Hussein diagnosed Albert with a simple headache and discharged her that same day without further investigation.
The complaint alleges that this “inadequate investigation” resulted in a failure to diagnose a progressing internal carotid artery dissection. The oversight proved catastrophic months later when, on January 31, 2025, Albert suffered a cerebral vascular stroke. The lawsuit claims this stroke was a direct result of the earlier failure to treat her arterial injury, leaving her with permanent neurological damage and a loss of earning capacity.
In addition to Dr. Hussein, the lawsuit names Inphynet South Broward, LLC and Paragon Contracting Services, LLC as defendants, alleging they provided the medical staffing for the hospital’s emergency department. The plaintiff argues that West Boca Medical Center is vicariously liable for the doctor’s actions, claiming the hospital created the appearance that Dr. Hussein was a member of its staff, which led Albert to rely on the facility for appropriate care.
Albert is represented by the law firm Freedland Harwin Valori Gander Spillis, PL. She seeks in excess of $50,000 which is the statutory minimum for filing in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. West Boca Medical Center and related defendants have not yet filed a formal response to the allegations in court. Read the complete lawsuit below.
