BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An agreement between prosecutors and defense counsel for a Boca Raton murder suspect permitting an independent review of alleged evidence held by the Boca Raton Police Department led to no major changes in the case where two people died, one was critically injured, and the suspect out of state.
Davante Moss of Boynton Beach remains in custody, charged with two counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder, and fleeing law enforcement.
As BocaNewsNow.com was first to report in the minutes and hours after the crime, Davante Moss is accused of fatally shooting two people, injuring a third, and fleeing to Georgia on September 20, 2024 after the drug and sex related crime spree at 365 North Ocean Boulevard — an extended stay motel. Moss slipped through a Boca Raton Police dragnet, then evaded law enforcement as he drove to Georgia where he was eventually apprehended. Palm Beach County judge Scott Suskauer just set a case management hearing for April 16th. In September, prosecutors and defense attorneys agreed to an independent review of evidence being held in a Boca Raton Police secure storage facility.
BocaNewsNow.com is republishing the transcript of Boca Raton Police Chief Michelle Miuccio’s rundown of events from our initial reporting on a September 23, 2024 news conference. Court documents reveal no substantive changes to the narrative since Moss’ arrest.
FAST TRANSCRIPT: “On Friday, September 20, at 4:53pm, the police department received several calls of a shooting with multiple victims at 365 North Ocean Boulevard. Officers arrived on scene within three minutes and located three victims in the parking lot, two of the victims, Christopher Liszak, 49 of Oakland Park and the female victim, 32 were pronounced dead on scene. The other male victim was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. During the investigation, it was revealed that the female victim, who had rented the room, was not a Boca resident and the suspect, Devonte Moss of Boynton Beach, were in the room together. It appears that they had an argument, and Moss fled the room, carrying the victim’s purse. The victim ran after him and yelled at him to give her purse back. She argued with him by the silver four door Jaguar and tried pulling a purse out of his arms. A male victim went over to Moss, and the female, and joined in the argument. Moss exited the driver’s side and removed something from the back seat, while the female victim continued to struggle.

The male victim ran to a nearby truck and removed a small bag. When Christopher Liszack left and exited his room, he walked over to the vehicle and appeared to intervene in the argument. The male victim returned from the truck, opened the passenger side door of the Jaguar, and after seeing Moss, quickly moved and took cover towards the rear of the vehicle. Moss exited the vehicle, raised a pistol and shot the female victim and Liszack at close range. Moss turned the pistol towards the male victim, who was by the passenger door, fired and shot him.
The female victim was shot in the areas of the neck, forearm and upper back, Liszack was shot in the chest. The male victim who was shot crawled towards the hotel, and Moss ran after him. The male raised his empty hands up over his head, and Moss shot him in the abdomen area. This incident was captured on video and was confirmed by witnesses. Detectives were able to obtain the tag number of the vehicle and confirm that the driver was Devonte moss. Detectives were able to get a search warrant for his Boynton Beach residents, and with the assistance of the Boynton Beach Police Department executed the warrant.
Moss’ fiance was at the residence and told detectives that at 5:30pm he had returned home, packed a bag and said he was headed to Jacksonville for work. Through investigative techniques, it was revealed that Moss was on his way to Georgia, and detectives alerted the Georgia State Patrol. At approximately 5:20 a.m., a Georgia State Trooper, Laurents County Sheriff’s deputy, saw the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, and Moss, who was the only occupant, was taken into custody without incident.”
