BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A reminder to parents and guardians of students enrolled in the Palm Beach County public school system: no, it’s not a dream. Your kids really are now off until January 6th. That’s 11 days, not including weekends.
The Palm Beach County School District continues with its abnormal holiday schedule, awarding teachers a “planning day” at the back end of vacation. That means that while the rest of the working world returns on Monday, January 5th, you need to find childcare for an extra day. Students don’t return until Tuesday, January 6th, so teachers can spend a day preparing for work after they’ve been off for two weeks. Area private schools return on January 5th.
Once students are back, they have nine days of learning until they’re off again — on January 19th. After that, students continue school until they’re off again on February 18th. That’s when teachers have another planning day.
Spring break for the Palm Beach County School District runs from march 16th through March 20th.
