POMPANO BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Three male teenagers were killed Monday night following a violent two-vehicle collision on North Federal Highway. The crash occurred just before 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of Pompano Beach, drawing a massive response from Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue. Despite life-saving efforts and extrication from the wreckage, all three teens were pronounced dead after being transported to Broward Health North.
Preliminary findings by investigators, according to information shared with BocaNewsNow.com, indicate the accident began when the driver of a 2014 white BMW M5, traveling southbound, struck a raised concrete curb in the center median. The impact caused the driver to lose control, at which point the BMW sideswiped a 2024 Acura Integra that had just turned onto the highway from a nearby shopping plaza. The BMW then rotated clockwise and slid sideways across the roadway before jumping the west curb.
The out-of-control BMW continued its path of destruction, plowing through a Broward County Transit bus stop before finally coming to a halt against a concrete light pole and a tree. The driver of the Acura was able to make a controlled stop in a left-turn lane and did not report any injuries, nor did any passengers in that vehicle. Damage to the Acura was limited to a sideswipe impact on the front driver’s side.
Broward County detectives are currently investigating the cause of the tragedy, though they have already identified excessive speed by the BMW driver as a likely contributing factor.
The victims are identified as:
DRIVER: Richard Manuel Alcocer, 18, male, Pompano Beach (DECEASED | Passenger 1: Miguel Montez, 16, additional information withheld. | Passenger 2: Ruben Baltazar, 15, additional information withheld.
