BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County recently gathered more than 500 major donors for its annual Sandler Family Major Gifts Event. The evening focused on philanthropic leadership and community reflection during a program titled “World Jewry at a Crossroads.” Held in Boca Raton, the event served as a platform for local leaders to discuss the impact of their generosity on the agencies and programs that support Jewish life across the region.
The highlight of the night was a deep-dive conversation featuring Dan Senor, a New York Times bestselling author known for The Genius of Israel and Start-Up Nation. Moderated by Gabby Deutch, the dialogue explored the resilience of Israel and the shifting landscape of global and American Jewry. The discussion touched on the vital role that local communities like South Palm Beach County play in maintaining stability and identity during times of international uncertainty and transition.
Local leadership, including Federation President and CEO Igor Alterman and Campaign Co-Chair Bryan Drowos, addressed the crowd about the growing appeal of the area for Jewish families. Alterman noted that South Palm Beach County has become a destination for those seeking a community where Jewish identity is not only celebrated but actively protected. He urged attendees to view the current climate as a moment of “momentum” that will define the direction of the local community for the next ten years.
To keep that momentum going, the Federation announced several upcoming international opportunities for its donors. A community mission to Israel is scheduled for March 9–14, 2026, followed by a high-level Major Gifts Mission to both the United Arab Emirates and Israel in October. These trips are designed to give supporters an inside look at the cultural and innovative shifts happening in the region through exclusive meetings with visionary leaders.
