Norbey Tobon, 55, was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division on January 6, 2026, stemming from the high-speed collision that occurred last May. Investigators have officially charged Tobon with Reckless Driving causing Serious Bodily Injury.
The incident unfolded on the evening of May 24, 2025, near the 4200 block of Southern Boulevard. According to sheriff’s investigators, Tobon was behind the wheel of a 2020 Audi RS8 traveling westbound at a high rate of speed in the inside lane. As he approached the exit ramp for Military Trail, Tobon allegedly made an abrupt swerve across a painted divider in an attempt to exit the highway, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and strike a curb.
The impact redirected the Audi back into the exit ramp lane, where it slammed into the back of a 2022 TQVC motorcycle. The force of the collision was so severe that the motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle, striking the windshield of the Audi before coming to rest on the roadway. While Tobon was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and remained uninjured, the other driver was not wearing safety equipment at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders called in a Trauma Hawk to airlift the motorcyclist to St. Mary’s Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. While the Audi came to a controlled rest against the curb, the motorcycle ended up on its side further down the ramp. Tobon was transported to the Main Jail following his arrest earlier today.
