WELLINGTON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A local equestrian center is facing a lawsuit after a young rider was seriously injured during a lesson. The complaint, recently filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, alleges that negligence led to a horse being startled by a vehicle on the “Dream Believers Stables” property, resulting in the child being thrown to the ground. The legal action seeks damages in excess of $50,000 for the injuries sustained during the incident.
According to the complaint obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, the incident occurred on August 15, 2024, at a property located on Hollow Tree Lane. The lawsuit claims that while the minor was in the middle of a riding lesson, a truck was permitted onto the premises. The vehicle reportedly made an unexpected noise that spooked the horse, causing the rider to fall and suffer various bodily injuries. Attorneys allege that the stables and the property owners failed to provide a safe environment or adequate supervision.
The complaint specifically points to a lack of warning signs regarding traffic near the riding areas and asserts that the staff did not properly assess the child’s ability to handle a horse under those specific circumstances. It further alleges that allowing a truck near a lesson in progress was a breach of the duty of care owed to the student.
As a result of the fall, the family says the child has suffered permanent injuries, including pain and suffering, mental anguish, and a loss of capacity to enjoy life.
