BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two homeowners in the West Boynton Beach community of Canyon Isles are facing foreclosure over roughly $3800 — according to documents obtained by BocaNewsNow.com. Brian and Gloria Coleman of Stonewood Forest Trail are being reminded by way of a lawsuit that HOA fees and dues are not optional in the State of Florida.
According to the official complaint, the homeowners failed to keep their account current, leading the Canyon Isles Homeowners Association to issue a formal notice of its intent to file a lien in September 2025. When the balance remained unpaid, the association recorded a Claim of Lien against the property on November 25, 2025.
Records indicate that as of mid-November 2025, the total amount due reached $3,813.96. This balance includes quarterly assessments starting from July 2025, along with late fees, interest calculated at 18 percent per year, and collection costs. Under the community’s governing documents and Florida law, the association has the authority to charge these fees and pursue foreclosure to satisfy the debt if it remains unpaid.
In addition to the back assessments, the association is asking the court to award reasonable attorney’s fees and administrative costs incurred during the collection process. If the court rules in favor of the HOA and the homeowners do not pay the ordered amount, the property could eventually be sold at a public auction to satisfy the claim.
