BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A youth football referee has filed a lawsuit in Palm Beach County after he was allegedly swarmed and “viciously beaten” by parents and spectators during a game last fall. Tiere Goer is suing Florida Elite Football & Cheerleading, Inc. for damages exceeding $50,000 following the October 18, 2025, incident. The lawsuit claims that Goer, who was officiating a game between a Boca Raton team and a Miami-based team known as the “Goulds,” was attacked after throwing a routine flag for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The complaint reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com describes a terrifying scene where a parent affiliated with the Goulds team aggressively charged Goer immediately following the call. Goer says he attempted to defend himself as he believed he was about to suffer “imminent bodily harm,” only to be swarmed by multiple parents and spectators. The assailants allegedly knocked Goer to the ground, where they repeatedly kicked and struck him, pulled his hair, and restrained him so he could not escape the attack.

Goer suffered facial lacerations and other serious bodily injuries that required medical treatment and caused him to miss work at his other job. According to the lawsuit, Florida Elite Football & Cheerleading was negligent because it allegedly knew the Goulds team posed a heightened risk of violence. The filing points to a “tumultuous history” involving the Miami team, including prior fights, ejections for aggressive behavior, and even past shootings at games or locations where the team participated.

The lawsuit further alleges that the league failed to provide adequate security, crowd control, or trained personnel at the game despite being on notice regarding the “known dangers” associated with the team. Goer’s attorneys The Sasson Law Firm in Boca Raton argue that the violent attack was entirely foreseeable and preventable if the league had implemented reasonable safety measures or disciplined the team for its past conduct. Goer seeks in excess of $50,000 — the statutory minimum for filing in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.
