The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Military Trail and Canal 10 Road.
Investigators tell BocaNewsNow.com that 29-year-old Dayan Rodriguez was riding a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound in the outside lane of Military Trail. Police say Rodriguez was traveling at a high rate of speed with no lights on when an unknown vehicle, believed to be heading northbound, attempted a U-turn directly into his path.
The front of the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the second vehicle, ejecting Rodriguez from his bike. He was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries early Thursday morning, with death pronounced at 5:53 a.m.
The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene, continuing southbound on Military Trail immediately after the impact. PBSO Investigator J. Frey is leading the ongoing homicide investigation into the crash
