SWAT DEPLOYED AFTER MAN SEEN WITH RIFLE, BUT LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING…

It turned out the man with the gun was an iguana hunter and unrelated to the case — but that was determined only after PBSO and Boca Raton Police spent hours in tactical and SWAT gear searching the area — fearing a killer was on the loose. PBSO Friday night confirmed to BocaNewsNow.com details of the situation:
>>On Friday, January 23, 2026, at approximately 11:51 a.m., deputies responded to a welfare check in the 6000 block of Golf Vista Way, unincorporated Boca Raton. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased individual inside the residence.

The Violent Crimes Division responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives are waiting on a search warrant to enter the residence to investigate further. This is an active and ongoing investigation.<<
While the situation is NEAR B’Nai Torah — and many tipsters said they saw police activity on the grounds of B’Nai Torah — we have received no information that the situation actually involves the synagogue. Again: the SWAT teams were called after a man was seen with a rifle in the area of the death investigation. The man was an iguana hunter and unrelated to the body.
