PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A West Palm Beach man died Wednesday evening following a single-vehicle wreck in Royal Palm Beach. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that the collision occurred around 6:27 p.m. near the intersection of Grand Oaks Boulevard and Crestwood Boulevard, just north of Okeechobee Boulevard.

Investigators say that 33-year-old Patrick Matthew Fogarty was driving a 1999 Ford Mustang northbound on Crestwood Boulevard. As the vehicle approached a right-hand curve in the roadway, Fogarty failed to negotiate the turn, causing the Mustang to mount the concrete center median. The car then rotated counter-clockwise before the front passenger side fender slammed into a large tree.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and rushed Fogarty to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Despite efforts by medical staff, he was pronounced deceased at 7:14 p.m. from the injuries he sustained during the crash.

According to the crash report, Fogarty was not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the accident. The case remains under investigation by the PBSO Traffic Division.
