The massive winter storm is leading to huge numbers of flight cancellations in South Florida.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Nearly 300 flights have already been cancelled at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as of just before 11 a.m. Sunday. The massive winter storm now hitting the northeast means planes and crews are out of place, or stuck in airports being pummeled by snow and ice.

According to FlightAware, JetBlue has already axed 81 flights into and out of FLL, with Spirit cancelling 63, Delta cancelling 36, American grounding and Southwest each cancelling 25, and United nixing 23.

At PBI, 141 flights have already been canceled, with JetBlue, American, United, and Delta topping the list.

At Miami International Airport — a major American Airlines hub — 248 flights have already been canceled. American canceled 129 flights, with Delta (36) and Envyoy (21) leading the pack.

We remind our readers that airlines are not responsible for lodging or other expenses if cancellations are due to weather. You should, however, be able to reschedule or request a refund without a fee. We also remind you that there is very little that you can’t do online when it comes to flight scheduling, so there’s no reason you can’t deal with your flight plans while hanging out by the pool.
