Winter Storm Means Few Flying In, Out Of South Florida.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The bad situation at South Florida’s three major airports on Sunday got even worse on Monday, with mass flight cancellations and delays due to the huge winter storm now blasting the northeast. While it’s nice in South Florida, planes and crews remain out of place — meaning the entire aviation network is experiencing problems.
At Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (FLL), at least 121 flights have been cancelled as of mid-day Monday, according to data from FlightAware. JetBlue leads the herd with 45 cancelled flights. Spirt has axed 23, American 19, Delta 13, United 7, and Southwest 7.
At Miami International Airport, 118 flights have been cancelled so far, with 92 flown by American. Miami is a major American Airlines hub. Delta at MIA has cancelled 9 flights, united 5, and Southwest 3.
At Palm Beach International Airport, 74 flights have been axed as of mid-day, with 32 flown by JetBlue. American cancelled 14 flights in and out of PBI, Delta 12, United 6, and Southwest 4.
As we’ve been reporting, airlines are not responsible for providing lodging, food, or other compensation if flights are canceled or delayed due to weather. You should, however, be able to cancel or change your flight without a fee. There is normally no reason to sit on hold with your airline. There is very little that can be accomplished through your airline’s website or app.
