BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man is facing a fraud charge after being stopped for speeding on Glades Road. Daniel Andres Dugan, 25, was arrested on Friday afternoon by Florida Atlantic University Police after allegedly being clocked traveling 74 mph in a 45 mph zone near the FAU campus.
The traffic stop began just after 2:30 p.m. when police observed a black Mercedes Benz speeding eastbound on Glades Road. After pulling the vehicle over, police say the driver claimed he had lost his wallet and did not have his driver’s license. According to the arrest report, the driver identified himself as “Michael A. Dugan” with a 1997 birthdate but could not provide a social security number or any photo ID to verify the claim.
A check of the state driver database revealed that the photo for “Michael Dugan” did not match the man behind the wheel. Police say the driver eventually admitted his true identity as Daniel Dugan and confessed that he had provided his brother’s information because his own license was suspended. A subsequent records check confirmed his license was indeed revoked.
Dugan was arrested and charged with providing a false name to law enforcement and driving while license revoked. He was also issued a citation for unlawful speed. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $1250 bond.
