DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A woman arrested in Deerfield Beach is accused of stealing more than $1.2M and using the money for mansion rentals, diamond jewelry, and cross country private flights. Keshon Litesha Rivers is now in the Broward Jail, accused of spending the spring and summer of 2025 burning through more than $1.2 million stolen from a local business.
The alleged scheme targeted the owners of Event Décor Direct, a company that had a working relationship with Rivers’ own business, Lock and Key Designs. Between May and August 2025, detectives say Rivers siphoned off the money while attempting to cover her tracks with a classic “phantom” accomplice. When the suspicious credit card charges started piling up, Rivers reportedly blamed a fictitious individual she claimed was responsible; however, investigators quickly determined that the person she was pointing the finger at simply didn’t exist.
BSO Detectives allegedly uncovered dozens of fraudulent transactions, including $85,000 spent on gold and diamond jewelry. Rivers is also accused of dropping more than $55,000 on a private jet flight from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles and another $43,000 to rent high-end mansions in both Miami Beach and Southern California.
Rivers was taken into custody on Wednesday, Feb. 4, and is currently being held without bond at the Broward County Main Jail. She faces charges of organized scheme to defraud, money laundering, and grand theft of more than $100,000. Rivers was already on probation until 2030 for similar fraud charges out of Polk County. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact BSO Detective Christopher Bradley at 954-480-4300.
