BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two men are in custody and facing murder charges following an investigation into a body discovered earlier this month in unincorporated western Broward County. Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives say the victim was found deceased inside a vehicle near a boat ramp.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that the investigation began on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 1, when deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked at the West Broward Boat Ramp on North U.S. 27. Inside, they discovered the body of an adult male. While the Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide and investigators believe the killing took place a day earlier, authorities have not released specific details regarding the cause of death.
Detectives identified Jayden DeJesus and Trevon Quinones as the primary suspects in the case. The pair was apprehended on Wednesday, Feb. 11, more than a thousand miles away in Texas. Deputies with the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office detained the men following a traffic stop, an arrest that involved coordination between BSO’s V.I.P.E.R. Unit, the U.S. Marshals Office in Dallas, and the City of Miami Police Department.
DeJesus and Quinones are currently being held in a Kaufman County jail, facing charges of first-degree murder with a firearm and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. Both men are expected to be extradited to Broward County to formally face the charges.
