CRASH ALERT: I-95 Shut Southbound Following Critical Crash

UPDATE AT 3:12 p.m. — Express lanes remain closed but main lanes are now open. This will be our final update on this crash.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — I-95 is completely shut southbound in Broward County following a critical crash mid-day Sunday. Do NOT head south on I-95 if you’re heading to Fort Lauderdale or further south.

Here is the official update from the Florida Department of Transportation:

“Emergency vehicles in Broward County on 95 Express South, ramp from I-95 Mainline/Oakland Park Blvd. On-ramp closed. Last updated at 01:48 PM. Road Ranger Ahead. Move Over or Slow Down.”

We have learned at least three people were critically injured in the crash. It’s unclear if anyone was killed. Check back for updates. Traffic is backed up for several miles before it’s being pushed off at Sunrise Boulevard.
