LAKE WORTH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A high-speed collision on South Jog Road claimed the life of a teenage motorcyclist late Monday night. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports that 17-year-old Emmanuel Pelaez Alzate was killed in the crash, which occurred around 11:27 p.m. near the intersection of Jog Road and Jog Park Drive in Greenacres.
According to investigators in a report provided to BocaNewsNow.com, Pelaez Alzate was operating a 2024 Kawasaki Z650 southbound on Jog Road at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a 2024 Volkswagen Taos, driven by 73-year-old Hermyonne Miller Cadore, was traveling northbound and attempted to make a left turn across the southbound lanes of Jog to head west on Jog Park Drive.
The motorcycle slammed into the front right side of the Volkswagen. Both vehicles were redirected toward the southwest before coming to a rest in the roadway. Pelaez Alzate, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, was ejected from his bike and thrown onto the shoulder of the road.
Emergency crews from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue pronounced the teenager dead at the scene shortly after the crash. The occupants of the Volkswagen, including the driver and her passenger, 81-year-old Herbert Joseph Cadore, sustained only minor injuries.
