PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The family and friends of a teen killed in a motorcycle crash is now asking the public for help paying for funeral and related expenses so his body can be returned to his native Colombia. As we reported, Emmanuel Pelaez Alzate died in a crash in Lake Worth Monday night.
From our original reporting on Tuesday: “The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports that 17-year-old Emmanuel Pelaez Alzate was killed in the crash, which occurred around 11:27 p.m. near the intersection of Jog Road and Jog Park Drive in Greenacres.
According to investigators in a report provided to BocaNewsNow.com, Pelaez Alzate was operating a 2024 Kawasaki Z650 southbound on Jog Road at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a 2024 Volkswagen Taos, driven by 73-year-old Hermyonne Miller Cadore, was traveling northbound and attempted to make a left turn across the southbound lanes of Jog to head west on Jog Park Drive.
The motorcycle slammed into the front right side of the Volkswagen. Both vehicles were redirected toward the southwest before coming to a rest in the roadway. Pelaez Alzate, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, was ejected from his bike and thrown onto the shoulder of the road.”
GoFundMe reached out to BocaNewsNow.com to share this appeal:
“In Loving Memory of Emmanuel Pelaez Alzate It is with broken hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Emmanuel Pelaez Alzate, a 17-year-old young man who tragically lost his life in an accident in Lake Worth.
Emmanuel was deeply loved by his family and everyone who knew him. At just 17 years old, he had his whole life ahead of him — full of dreams, hopes, and plans for the future. He had a kind heart, a warm spirit, and a presence that brought light to those around him. His loss leaves an unimaginable void in the lives of his parents and his sister, who are devastated by this tragedy.
Emmanuel and his family are Colombian and moved to Miami a few years ago in search of the American Dream, hoping to build a better future together. Sadly, they are now facing an unimaginable loss far from home. We are raising funds to help cover funeral expenses and to bring Emmanuel back home to Colombia.
The funds will specifically help cover the cost of cremation services in Miami, the necessary documentation and consular permits, and the safe transportation of his ashes to Colombia so he can rest surrounded by his loved ones in his homeland. We want to be fully transparent about how the funds will be used during this incredibly difficult time.
His parents and sister deeply appreciate every donation, prayer, and message of support. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page would mean so much to us. Thank you for standing with the Pelaez Alzate family during this heartbreaking time.”
