Sullivan County, NY Says Changes Start This Week.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Residents in Sullivan County will need to adjust their routines for child support payments starting later this week. The Sullivan County Child Support Collection Unit announced that beginning February 27, 2026, the local office will no longer accept in-person payments. The shift is designed to modernize the collection process and allow county staff to focus more on ensuring funds reach children and their caregivers as quickly as possible.
While the office doors are closing to cash and checks, officials emphasize that several secure and convenient alternatives remain available. John Liddle, the Commissioner of the Division of Health & Human Services, noted that the change aims to streamline operations while still providing plenty of flexibility for parents. From digital wallets to traditional mail, the county is leaning on established state and third-party systems to handle the financial logistics.
For those who prefer the speed of the internet, three primary online portals are available. Parents can use ExpertPay.com, ChildSupportBillPay.com/NewYork, or MoneyGram.com to fulfill their obligations. These platforms support a wide range of payment methods, including major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. While some services may carry small transaction fees, they offer the benefit of faster processing times, often ranging from one to four business days.
If you still prefer to pay in person with cash, you will now need to visit a participating retail location rather than a government building. Local options for cash payments include the Walmart on Anawana Lake Road in Monticello, the Express Mobil Mart on Broadway in Monticello, and the Mexicana Supermarket in South Fallsburg. When paying at these locations via MoneyGram, users must use the New York receive code 14690 to ensure the money reaches the correct department.
For those who lean toward the traditional route, payments can still be sent through the mail. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the NYS Child Support Processing Center and sent to P.O. Box 15363 in Albany. To avoid any processing delays, the county reminds residents to include their full name, their unique case identifier, and the name of the county handling the case on all correspondence.
